Meet your representatives
My name is Steve Chick and I am standing for the Loburn School Board.
I have been a parent representative on the board since 2012. Over that period, I have covered Health and Safety, Audit, Governance Policy and Finance Rep roles.
I am currently employed in the Air Transport sector as aircrew. Previously I had experience as an aircraft technician and senior supervisor in the military, baggage handler, marketing team leader, operations controller, door to door salesman, horticultural labourer and as a pre marriage guidance counsellor.
My wife Suzy and I have 4 boys, all who attended Loburn School with the youngest finishing in 2016.
My passion for the school is to see it provide the education that the local parent community desire for their children. This is not always what the education bureaucracy promotes!
I believe the vast majority want our students to be given knowledge, skills and thought patterns that enable them to thrive in sophisticated, civilised western style democracies. With that in mind I have been very active in exposing and resisting any programmes that do not meet that end.
I have been a continual advocate for consistent useful achievement data being collated and provided to the board as there is no real way currently to objectively measure the outcome of various measures applied in the school. While there has been some recent progress there is still much to be done.
I look forward to your continued support for me in this role.
